During a hysterosalpingogram, an X-ray is utilized to look inside your uterus and fallopian tubes. Scar tissue, polyps, fibroids, and obstructed fallopian tubes are all issues that could prevent a fertilized egg from implanting properly in your uterus. You must perform it between cycle days 6 and 11 after your period but before ovulation. Contact the office on the first day of your menstruation to schedule your procedure. You must not be actively bleeding in order for the procedure to be done. If you have a personal history of pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, or chlamydia, you will be called at least 4 days before to the surgery to address the potential need for antibiotics.
